PROGRAM SUPPORT

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina not only recognizes excellence in Nursing, but also is proud to include a scholarship program to support nursing education.

A main component of our mission is to increase the nursing workforce in North Carolina. The Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina diligently support nursing students across our state with monetary scholarships. With funds approved by the Great 100 Board of Directors, through donations received from the Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina Alumni Committee and our generous contributors, various scholarships are awarded to North Carolina nursing students each year.

Annually, nursing schools across North Carolina are randomly selected as scholarship recipients. The nursing administrator is contacted, and with the assistance of their faculty, a student is chosen who is most deserving to receive this award based on the criteria established by the Great 100 Board of Directors.

Since 1989, many scholarships have been awarded by the Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina, currently totalling $875,500, to proudly support and advance our profession within our beautiful state.
